Ultra fine precipitated Calcium Carbonate (UFPCC) in polymer matrices, especially polyolefins, including various grades of polyethylene and polypropylene, in addition to reducing the finished productcost, as a functional filler, improves the quality of the product. Since in the process of polyolefins, such as injection molding, extrusion and blown films, the product behavior depends on the type of crystals and their amount during the production process, the presence of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) with morphology and specific size distribution, as well as modification , a specific product leads to a change in crystallinity behavior and product properties.
Polyolefins
Modified PCC
In producing films and polyolefin sheets and breathable films, the final behavior of product is a function of particle properties and the interaction of particles and polymer matrix as well as crystallinity and crystal morphology.
precipitated calcium carbonate
With the use of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) and chemical modification of its surface, the mechanical properties and tensile strength and also the physical properties of the product are lower than that of ground calcium carbonate (GCC), so it is possible to use it in the polymer blend. Therefore in all products based on polyolefins, ranging from film and sheet, breathable films, PE and PP fibers and white masterbaches can be used.
